I'm on my way to see my girl friend.....lets see, friends since 7th grade....and still friends! Remember when we went skating every wed. & sat? Did we go on fridays also, seems I can't remember? A lot of things I can't remember of late.....Any how! Boy were we skinney then..I stayed at your house a lot of the time, your mom worked at Murphys 5 & 10 and your dad worked at the glass plant...There always seemed to be a chair at the table for me and pleanty of food,,,My chair was tight against the sink and whoever happened to be there was expected to eat even if it was chicken most of the time. Oh those darn chickens, your dad raised. Haha
Remember chasing those darn chickens and chopping their heads off or did we take them to the auction house, maybe both. That old truck your dad had that we drove to the auction barn with cattle and we thought it was fun....you driving that old truck....and we never expected to get paid like the kids today. I loved going to your house. it was always buzzing and me being an only child thought it was great.
Back to the skating rink, it was a run down rink but we loved it. Real wood floors. and the bathrooms that some one added to the back that sorta leaned toward the creek. Every other dance was some thing different. ladies choice. two step, crack the whip. I cracked my elbow doing that, then got that cute Gene Yates to take me home. Never thought about suing Uncle Grant geez no one even knew about suing. Mom & dad paid the Dr. bill and that was that! Remember how all the boys would come to the rink and stand around watching us girls. Uncle Grant wasn't really my uncle but I think he was yours. We had our own skates but you could rent them for .25. I whined around home till my dad bought me new wheels and I loosened them babies up so I could turn on a dime.
